OUR BEGINNING

It started with a love for the little things, little moments that we tend to forget in the humdrum of life.

The Little Details was born from a simple belief: the most beautiful spaces aren't filled with grand gestures — they're shaped by the details.

The carefully chosen object on a shelf. The handmade bowl on a dining table. The woven textile that brings warmth to a room.

Because beautiful things don't have to be ordinary, and handcrafted things don't have to feel traditional.

With years of experience across fashion, home, sourcing and manufacturing, we saw an opportunity to bring two worlds together — the richness of Indian craftsmanship and the ease of contemporary living.

We started as a small, passionate endeavour rooted in India's extraordinary heritage of craft. Surrounded by centuries-old traditions of hand-weaving, hand-carving, watercolour painting and block-printing and metalwork, we wanted to do more than simply sell beautiful things.

We wanted to give these crafts a contemporary home — and help the skilled karigars behind them continue making.

And so, The Little Details was born.

Every piece begins with a person.

We work closely with artisans, manufacturers and skilled craftspeople to create pieces in our workshops and theirs as well and these pieces carry the character of the hands that made them, while fitting effortlessly into modern homes.

From the first sketch to the final stitch, we care about the details.

They may not always be perfect.

But they are always thoughtful.

01 — CRAFT MATTERS

Handcrafted shouldn't simply be a label.

It should be visible in the texture, the stitch, the finish and the little imperfections that make each piece unique. While some pieces need machines to manoeuvre, majority of the work is done by skilled hands. 

02 — DESIGN SHOULD BE LIVED IN

Beautiful doesn't have to mean untouchable.

We design pieces that belong in real homes, around real tables and in everyday moments.

A contrasting stitch. An unexpected print. A beautiful texture. A carefully finished edge.

We obsess over the things that are easy to overlook — because they're often the things you notice most.

MEET THE MAKERS

Craft carries a story.

Each product in our collection is made by skilled artisans — many of them working within family craft lineages that span generations.

From the painters of Kashmir to the woodworkers of Kerala, from weavers in the villages of Kutch to the metal-casters of Haryana, our makers bring lifetimes of knowledge to every piece they create.

We work closely with these artisans, visiting workshops, understanding techniques and collaborating on designs that honour the integrity of each craft while speaking to modern sensibilities.

We believe a beautiful object deserves to be understood.

OUR DESIGN LANGUAGE

Indian at heart. Contemporary by design.

Our world is eclectic, tactile and unapologetically Indian.

We find inspiration in old crafts, architectural details, vintage textiles, nature, travel and the colours we see around us.

Some pieces are maximal.
Some are quiet.
Some are playful.
Some are timeless.

The result is a collection that feels both rooted and worldly.

Pieces that are as much at home in a Mumbai apartment as they are in a home in London or Melbourne.

But they all share one thing:
They're designed to add a little personality to the spaces we live in.

For us, conscious design starts with making things worth keeping.

We choose materials thoughtfully, work with skilled makers and create pieces that are intended to be used rather than replaced with every passing trend.

We'd rather make something you'll still love five years from now than something you'll forget about next season.

We're still learning, evolving and finding better ways to make — and that's part of the journey.

MEET THE PERSON BEHIND THE LITTLE DETAILS

Nikita Karnani

Founder

The Little Details grew out of my love for products — how they're designed, where they're made, who makes them and ultimately how they become part of someone's life. I’ve always loved learning, observing different art and crafts. 

After more than a decade working across retail, fashion, manufacturing and sourcing, I wanted to create something that brought all those worlds together.

TLD is my way of celebrating the makers, materials and details that make Indian products special — while creating pieces that feel completely at home in the way we live today.

And yes, I probably do notice the stitching on everyone's cushions. But I’d like to end by saying I hope you always enjoy the little details of life.
